Our history and values
Founded by close friends John Allam and Paul Rosenthal in 2000, Amthal started off as a residential security company, before branching out into commercial security and fire protection for industries including block & facilities management, education, commercial, retail and hospitality. The name Amthal combines John and Paul’s surnames, ‘Allam’ (Am) and ‘Rosenthal’ (Thal).
At Amthal we believe in the continuous investment in and development of our people, and as a result, we are proud to employ an expert team who deliver excellence for our customers. Our senior management team features two members who began their Amthal life as apprentices.
Our company mission is to provide complete and compliant fire and security protection, taking care of everything from design and installation to monitoring and maintenance.
Awards and accreditations
As a trusted fire and security partner, it’s important to us that our credentials can be recognised and verified by our customers. We gained SSAIB (Security Systems and Alarms Inspection Board) accreditation in 2003, followed by Fire Industry Association (FIA) membership and BAFE Fire Safety and ISO accreditation in 2010. In 2023 we gained National Security Inspectorate (NSI) Gold accreditation, a highly regarded recognition which has since become our benchmark, surpassing our previous SSAIB certification.
In 2022, Amthal CEO Jamie Allam was named Business Leader of the Year at the St Albans Chamber of Commerce Community Business Awards.
